Vaughn Vertigo On Renzo Rose: If You Work For OTT, Why Aren't You Defending The Title Against Irish People?

Vaughn Vertigo previews his upcoming match with Renzo Rose this weekend.

At OTT Spankdown on Saturday, Vaughn Vertigo will be the latest import to challenge for Renzo Roses' OTT No Limits Championship. Rose has implemented the stipulation that Irish wrestlers cannot challenge for the title, something Vaughn previously poked fun at in a promo.

While speaking to Fightful's Corey Brennan in a recent interview ahead of Vaughn's visit to Ireland, Vaughn noted that he found the stipulation ridiculous.

"Yeah, I mean, I'm really looking forward to getting back to OTT. So I did OTT last year up in Derry, which is Northern Ireland, which is not technically Ireland, right? So now I actually get to do Dublin, which I'm very, very much looking forward to. So I didn't actually know too much about Renzo Rose, apart from the fact that he was an Italian who moved to Dublin, I suppose. Then I guess he kind of came up with the ranks through OTT, and now he's the No Limits champion. So doing a little bit of research, I was like, oh, this guy's been around for a little while. Then I come to find out that he only defends the title against people who are not from Ireland, which I thought was ridiculous. I mean, again, as I said in my promo, that's great for me, but at the same time, if you live in Ireland and you work for OTT why are you not defending the title against Irish people? It doesn't make any sense to me so i'm hoping that i'll take the championship and then i can defend it against you know LJ Cleary or somebody."

Vaughn made his OTT debut last year, facing off with LJ Cleary in a match that was hampered by an ongoing hernia injury for Vertigo.
